You can publish your data in BaMBa and to associated networks by going through the following steps:
- Request an account to upload your files to our file hosting service. You can upload your data sets to our file hosting service at the address https://marinebiodiversity.lncc.br/files.
To request an account to access this service please send an e-mail to marinebiodiversity@lncc.br.
- Use a template for formatting your data (optional). There are spreadsheets templates available for thematic areas that can be used to support formatting your data in a way that will facilitate the publishing process and the ingestion of data into our integrated database.
The following templates are available:
Species occurrences and checklists. BaMBa supports Darwin Core for publishing species occurences and checklists data. You can use templates made available by the Brazilian Biodiversity Information System (SiBBr) to format and upload your data on species occurrences (download) or species checklists (download).
Metagenome analysis. BaMBa supports taxonomic and functional metagenome annotation spreadsheets from MG-RAST, these can be uploaded directly to the file hosting service.
Templates for benthic cover and fish assemblages and Water sample analysis will be provided soon.
- Provide metadata about your dataset.Along with the uploaded files please provide metadata about your datasets.
For species occurrences and checklists, and for ecological datasets please use the Ecological Metadata Language (EML) standard. A spreadsheet template for providing metadata in this format is avaiable at GBIF (download).
For metagenome analysis datasets, please upload Minimum Information about any (X) Sequence (MIxS) metadata as provided by MG-RAST.
